About Us
The Wellness Information Zone Project
- This is a project of The Humana Foundation and Libraries for the Future.
- September 2007 – the project launched in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 90 million Americans need health information in everyday language.
- Understanding basic health information effects everyone’s health – more than age, income, employment status or race.
The project has 3 parts:
- Health Information Guides (librarians and volunteers)
- Health Information Centers (in some libraries & community organizations)
- www.wellzone.org website for health information in everyday language
